The P.S. 204 community cultivates a collaborative learning environment that promotes perseverance and inspires the love of learning.
We visualize our students as the centerpiece of our school who deserve challenging, exemplary educational programs across a wide spectrum of the curriculum. To achieve this vision, all of us— teachers, parents, and administrators— must give the best of ourselves to create the best in our children.
To make this vision a reality, we have embarked upon an educational plan that will focus on the quality teaching, parent involvement, community outreach, administrative participation, and a search for methods, materials, and ideas that will make P.S. 204 a school that students remember.
Our teachers have created thematic units, each of which last 6-12 weeks and address the standards in reading, writing, language, speaking and listening. Our math curriculum is GoMath, and will be supported by the EngageNY program. P.S. 204 also utilizes the Wilson “Fundations” program to support phonics learning.
